Springbuck calf (Antidorcas marsupialis). A single young springbuck is born after a 6 month gestation period, its parents having mated in May. This gazelle-like antelope inhabits the open dry plains of southern Africa, feeding on grass, leaves and shoots. It is the national emblem of South Africa, where it is known as the springbok. Photographed at the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, in South Africa and Botswana.
