Description
Springbucks. Newborn springbuck (Antidorcas marsupialis) suckling from its mother. A single young springbuck is born after a 6 month gestation period. These gazelle-like antelope inhabit the open dry plains of southern Africa, feeding on grass, leaves and shoots. The springbuck is the national emblem of South Africa, where it is known as the springbok. Photographed at the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, in South Africa and Botswana.
