Description
Springbucks. Female springbuck (Antidorcas marsupialis) feeding her calf. Springbucks mate in May, the single calf being born around 6 months later. These gregarious, gazelle-like antelopes inhabit the open dry plains of southern Africa, feeding on grass, leaves and shoots. They are the national and sporting emblem of South Africa, where they are known as springboks. Photographed at Etosha National Park, Namibia.
